Juventus last hosted Cremonese in a league encounter almost 28 years ago. The exact date on the calendar read 27 August 1995.
It was the opening day of the new season, with the Bianconeri proudly displaying the Scudetto crest on their kit to the Delle Alpi crowd following the previous campaign's league success. Marcello Lippi's side kicked off the defence of their title in style.
INSTANT IMPACT
Vladimir Jugovic was one of the Juve's new acquisitions ahead of the 1995-96 campaign, and it took the Serbian just 17 minutes to make his mark with his first league goal.
After the match, he expressed his delight following a dream debut: "The coach was looking for a midfielder who was able to attack from deep, and perhaps score a goal. With my performance today I think I proved to be the right man in the right place."
FABRIZIO AT THE DOUBLE
After Riccardo Maspero equalised at the start of the second half, Fabrizio Ravanelli let loose, netting a brace. The first was from open play, the second from the spot. The Juve striker's brace was publicly appreciated by Avvocato Gianni Agnelli, present in the stands.
FRENCHMAN'S FOURTH
The home side's fourth came courtesy of shot from Didier Deschamps, which beat goalkeeper Luigi Turci after a deflection off Andrea Tentoni. The goal came three minutes from time, with the Juve players receiving rapturous applause from the fans at the final whistle.
IN THE AUGUST HEAT
The match was played at the end of August, kicking off at 16:00 in the sweltering summer heat. Coach Lippi underlined this after the game, saying: "It was the first time we played in the afternoon and it was very hot. We could have done better, but the determination and desire of the boys to win is the same as last year, which is a great sign."
