Fifteen years ago, today, was a very sad day for the Juventus community, who found themselves forced to bid farewell to Umberto Agnelli with pain in their hearts.
‘Il Dottore’ left us on 27 May 2004, after a life closely linked with Juventus.
In the second half of the 1950s, he became President of the Club. A mentor, who until 1962, brought three Scudetti (including that of the First Star in 1958) and two Italian Cups to Juventus.
But as they used to say; with ‘Il Dottore’, a link with Juventus was created that would last throughout a lifetime. In the 90s, in fact, he returned to take care of Juve, and an era of extraordinary successes took place: five Scudetti, an Italian Cup, four Italian Supercups, an Intertoto Cup, a European Super Cup, and in particular, the Champions League and the Intercontinental Cup.
Today, the day after the conclusion of the season, which brought the eighth consecutive Scudetto to the club, we remember him, because Umberto Agnelli is always in our hearts.
