Juventus Women simply had too much for Inter, and the Bianconere made the Derby d'Italia theirs in emphatic fashion on Matchday 8 of the Serie A season with a 5-0 win in Biella.
How it went
This is one of those games after which the report is almost solely a tale of the goals scored and nothing more. The opener came inside two minutes, with Arianna Caruso grabbing her 51st for the Bianconere after a Paulina Nystrom assist. A minute later Lineth Beerensteyn almost doubled our lead.
The wait for a second wasn't long though, with Julia Grosso scoring a perfectly-placed left-footed effort, stroking the ball into the top corner from the edge of the box. At the other end, Pauline Peyraud-Magnin was alert whenever Inter made it near her goal.
All of the chances fell to Juve though, really. Beerensteyn continued to probe and went close again, as did Nystrom as the Bianconere pushed for a third.
The break came and spared Inter for 15 minutes, but we came out hungry in the second half and needed just seven minutes for Lindsey Thomas to get her first of the afternoon
The break spared Inter for a few minutes, but we came out as hungry as before in the second half. It took just seven minutes for Lindsey Thomas to score our third, which was her second Serie A goal since joining in the summer. Eight minutes later she scored again, converting on the end of an assist from Maelle Garbino.
Cecilia Salvai hit the crossbar as we sought a fifth, but it did later through a familiar source. Cristiana Girelli stepped off the bench to immediately win a penalty, which she stepped up and converted herself.
And so the derby ended in delight for our Bianconere, allowing us to remain unbeaten against Inter.
