21 April 2023
Roma host Juventus at the Tre Fontane stadium on Saturday 22 April 2023. In the regular season the two sides met in the capital on 12 December last year. What unfolded was one of the most important displays by the Bianconere this campaign.
A PICTURE OF JOY
An unusual photo for a regular season encounter but the post-match celebrations were justified given the importance of the fixture. Juve managed to win at the home of the leaders to release a sense of collective joy, which for the scorers on the day was felt even more.
A SENSE OF BELIEF
The ability to respond to falling behind injected a sense of belief. Just two minutes after Annamaria Serturini's opener, Juve were already level. Lineth Beerensteyn raced in on goal and finished with aplomb. Only 14 minutes had been played.
IN FRONT
Juventus completed the comeback before the break. It was Cristiana Girelli who tucked the ball away, finished a move set up by Julia Grosso. Juve were in front at half time.
QUALITY FINISH
The match was intense, vibrant, end-to-end. Just as they did in the first half, the hosts struck early to level through Andressa. With a quarter of the game remaining, Beerensteyn produced a quality finish on the turn to restore the Bianconere's lead.
FINISHING TOUCH
With just over 10 minutes to play, Grosso turned from goal maker to goal grabber. The move started from a corner kick. Linda Sembrant provided the pass for Julia to slam the ball home. Final result: Roma 2-4 Juventus.
