It's just ten days to go until the Juventus Summer Tour powered by Jeep, which will see the Bianconeri take part in the 2023 Soccer Champions Tour.
Juve will be in the United States for a second year in a row, this time from 21 July to 3 August 2023, where they will play three friendly matches against Barcelona, AC Milan and Real Madrid.
The Bianconeri have for many years travelled abroad on tour, the first coming as far back as the 1950s. Since then, thousands of fans from all corners of the globe have had the opportunity to cheer their idols on tour, in stadiums and training grounds in their own countries.
Across half a century, Juve have travelled many miles, reaching their fans in the following territories: Brazil, USA, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Japan, Argentina, South Korea, Hong Kong, China, UAE and Saudi Arabia.
1951 - THE FIRST TOUR
It all started in 1951, when the Juventus team of Boniperti, Muccinelli, Praest and Hansen, fresh off the back of winning the 1949/1950 league title, took part in the Copa Rio in Brazil, a forerunner to the World Club World Cup. The Bianconeri only participated in the first edition, which was won by Palmeiras, who defeated Juve 3-2 over two legs played in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
1969 - JUVE IN THE USA
Almost twenty years passed before we saw the Bianconeri on tour outside Europe once more. The year was 1969, when they embarked on a tour of the United States and faced Barcelona and Dundee United.
1975 - BACK IN BRAZIL
Under President Vittore Catella, the team boasted Anastasi, Del Sol and Helmut Haller among its stars. In July 1975, Juventus returned to Brazil as champions of Italy and met Palmeiras, Flamengo and Vasco da Gama. Carletto Parola (the man of the legendary reverse kick) returned to sit on the bench after fifteen years, and the new players on the pitch alongside Zoff, Gentile, Cuccureddu, Causio, Bettega and Altafini were a certain Damiani and Scirea.
1982 AND 1983 - CANADA
Canada was the new overseas destination for two consecutive years, in May 1982 and August 1983. There Juventus met the Toronto Blizzard and a US Olympic selection, playing a friendly on US soil in front of 20,000 spectators.
The match against the American invitational team was not the first match in which the Bianconeri faced a national side: the first occurred in 1938, a 1-1 draw with Holland, and since then, the summer tours have offered Juve players various opportunities to test themselves against selected teams that brought together the best of the host country's footballers.
1984 - DOWN UNDER
In June 1984 Juve were in Australia, where they met the local national team in three evenly-matched friendlies, in addition to the encounter won on penalties against Manchester United. In 1989, Juve crossed the Atlantic for another tour of the USA in which they defeated the United States and then went down 3-2 to Mexico, a country they then toured in 1991.
1992 AND 2005 - BIANCONERI IN JAPAN
In 1992 Juve returned to visit Japan - a magical land for every Juventus fan after the victory in the Intercontinental Cup in 1985 (and then in 1996) - where they faced the local national team. They would also return in 2005, coached by Fabio Capello, to face Yokohama F-Marinos, Kitchee Football Team and FC Tokyo.
1994, 1996 AND 2003 - FROM EAST TO WEST
Between the two experiences in the Land of the Rising Sun, various tours and overseas match-ups took place: the 1994 Sivori Cup in Argentina, the tour in South Korea and Vietnam in 1996, the visit to Abu Dhabi in January 2003 (with two matches against the World Selection and Al-Ain) and in the United States, again, in the summer of the same year, where the Bianconeri won the Italian Super Cup against Milan on penalties.
2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 AND 2013 - CHINA, AUSTRALIA, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES AND THE USA
Scrolling through our history history, the Bianconeri touched down in several countries: China and Australia (2008), the United States and Canada (2010, 2011 and 2012), the United Arab Emirates (January 2012) and again in the USA in 2013.
2014 AND 2015 - ASIA AND AUSTRALIA
In the summer of 2014, Juve flew to Jakarta, Indonesia, then on to Sydney, Australia and subsequently Singapore; the following year, after several European friendlies, the Bianconeri flew to Shanghai, China, where they played the Italian Super Cup against Lazio, with goals from Mandzukic and Dybala securing the win.

2016 AND 2017 - MORE TRAVELS!
In 2016 the Bianconeri were back Down-Under, playing a series of friendlies in Australia and Hong Kong. In 2017, the team were back once again in the USA.
2018 AND 2019 - USA AND MORE!
The squad was Stateside again in 2018, with friendlies in New Jersey, Georgia and Washington. In 2019, Asia and Europe were the destinations: Singapore, Nanjing and Seoul in Asia before seeing out the tour in Stockholm with a friendly match against Atletico Madrid.
2022 AND 2023 - RECENT TRAVELS
After a two-year break on travels due to the pandemic, the 2022/2023 season started off once again in the States, which will once again host the Bianconeri this year!
