In Nyon the first commitments for Juventus Women next season were set out.
The draw for the first phase of the UEFA Women's Champions League 2023/24 has placed Kazakh outfit WFC Okzhetpes against the Bianconere. Completing Group 2 of the mini-tournament in Round 1 of qualifying are Eintracht Frankfurt and 1. FC Slovácko.
Present at the event was the Juventus Women's Football Director, Stefano Braghin, who commented on the outcome of the draw.
STEFANO BRAGHIN
"The draw was not very fortunate as we ended up in the same group as Eintracht Frankfurt, the strongest team with Arsenal that we could have met. We will focus first on the semi-final against WFC Okzhetpes, which we absolutely have to win, then we will try and do everything to upset the odds in the eventual final - because should Eintracht Frankfurt qualify, they will start as slight favourites. They finished third in the Bundesliga, just five points behind Bayern Munich and three behind Wolfsburg, losing only two games and having beaten Champions League finalists Wolfsburg 4-0. What's more, they will play this mini-tournament at home. We will prepare ourselves in the best possible way to be ready for this important appointment in September."
