Player Profile
Explosive pace, boundless energy and a keen eye for an interception: Alex Sandro ticks all the boxes of the modern wing-back.
Brazil historically has been renowned for its conveyor belt of dynamic and adventurous defenders and the Samba nation has undoubtedly produced another in Juve’s number 12.
Ever since making the switch from Porto in 2015, watching Alex Sandro steaming up and down the left touchline has become a familiar sight for Bianconeri fans, with the Brazilian offering width, pace, power and accurate deliveries from the flanks – no less obvious than his pair of assists in the 2017 Coppa Italia final.
Alex Sandro started his career at Atletico Paranaense in 2007, including a season-long loan spell with Santos, prior to joining Porto in 2011, where he would win back-to-back titles before joining the Bianconeri.
The full-back also claimed a Copa America and World Cup at U20 level before stepping up to the seniors to become an Olympic silver medallist at the London games a year later in 2012.
In 2019, Alex Sandro was part of the Brazil squad that lifted the Copa America on home soil, starting the final as the hosts beat Peru 3-1 in Rio.
